U0001
High Speed CAN Communication Bus
Detailed Description
The ECM has detected abnormal high-speed CAN bus communication — unable to normally send and receive messages.
Possible Causes
CAN bus wiring open or shorted
CAN bus terminating resistor missing or abnormal (typically two 120-ohm resistors in parallel = 60 ohms)
A control module internal CAN transceiver failure pulling the bus low
Wiring connector poor contact.
Solutions & Repair Guide
Measure the resistance between OBD port pins 6 and 14 (should be approximately 60 ohms with ignition off); Check CAN bus wiring for damage; Disconnect each control module one by one to identify which module is causing the bus fault; Use an oscilloscope to observe the CAN bus waveform.
